Composite Projects/Crafting with Photoshop
Composite Projects were purposed to demonstrate the themes of 'Hate' and 'Mental Illness' and the impact it draws upon the suffering especially during crucial times of COVID19. The Project is not purposed to scare people, however, is aimed to inform and teach people that support and recognition needs to be acted upon. The Project also reflects on techniques drawn within the crafting of the face through the process of layering, identifying blending modes and brush techniques in Adobe Photoshop.
The composite describes the idea of a man deteriorating. I intended to create a zombie, skull e ect to cast a horrific eerie aesthetic. The composite speaks the concept of Hate, how words of another can impact upon a person. The gut wrenching visual depicts a instant sense of fright and shock towards the audience, this is purposed to provide audience with a sense of emotional and empathy towards the old man. Studying and understanding the knowledge of complex range of masking and blending further supported the composite in small and large details such as blemishes, discolouration, and bruising effects.
The Primary concept incorporates the idea of Mental Illness, particularly aiming towards those who have been suffering during the crucial times of COVID19. My concept demonstrates critical aspects of being affected through the layers of our skin. On the outside we are generally perceived in a different way, however, the inner core is something that can’t be seen. This has been displayed through the mental impact is has laid upon the suffering. Skin deteriorating as if it cannot recognise the inner person (the owner) - its an unusual perception, however, it can distinguished in many ways and relations. I intend to create a composite that will showcase the breaking of a face, displaying discolouration and grief. The composite is not purposed to scare people although to teach and inform people that there many out there who are suffering together in their own individual ways. Showing support and recognition to these aspects signifies that you are not alone.
The composite describes the idea of a little girl deteriorating. I decided to take a different aspect towards this particular concept due to the fact that this little girl would be more vulnerable in the eyes of the viewers. Displaying the visual impact it is layering upon the younger generation from little kids and the elderly. Concept two showcases the idea of children being impacted just as much as grown adults. From this point of idea I intend to create a similar effect displayed on this little girl. This concept is a rough demonstration of how the final will be perceived however I would still like to display the painterly qualities within this concept without potentially merging the intricate detail in the crafting of the skin.
